Behind the scenes as an intern
Over the past few months, Roberts Recycling has welcomed Nathan as part of an internship focused on sustainability, marketing and communications.
As part of this time with us, Nathan has worked across a wide variety of projects and fields. From visiting and filming schools for social and website content, to running campaigns and gaining hands on experience in the textile sustainability world.
He’s also produced a short vlog, giving a behind the scenes on life as an intern at Roberts Recycling which you can watch here;

Interning in Sustainability
“Before joining the Roberts Recycling team, I had no idea how much goes on behind the scenes each day, seeing the amount of textiles go through the warehouse is truly eye opening.”
Nathan says one of the highlights of his internship so far has been seeing how recycling campaigns inspire the future generations of textile recycling first-hand
“You really get to see the difference when a school takes part […] The pupils get so excited when they realize that their unwanted clothes are being given a second life instead of going off to landfill. It really shows the impact Roberts Recycling makes.”
Reflecting on his experience, Nathan said the placement gave him valuable insights into both sustainability and communications, saying
“Its been such an incredible place to learn and gain real experience […] I’ve seen how good campaign planning, social media and content creation can help drive a positive and environmentally beneficial change for the planet.”
