The Rainbow Recyclers

In the spirit of Recycle Week, Roberts Recyclingpledged the promise‘ with the local Rainbows and Guides of St Mary’s (Widnes, Unit 2).

Marketing Director Lewis Webster, accompanied by Marketing Intern Nathan Moore, represented the Roberts Recycling team. Together, they guided the groups through a mix of upcycling projects and creative challenges, while referencing the fun possibilities of textile upcycling!

Guiding fashion

We had a fun time watching the Rainbows “race against fast fashion“, before moving on to crafting their cool and colourful wreaths made of shredded textiles. Meanwhile, the Guides embraced their inner fashion designer through upcycling unwanted shirts with their creative recycled designs.

Roberts Recycling repurpose over 2 million clothing items a month, with even the scraps being used for something new. This project really reminded us that when creativity and sustainability meet, something exciting always happens.

A huge thank you again to Rhi, Anna, Sarah and Beth for welcoming us into their group, and for reminding us how important it is to inspire the next generation to think about the clothes we wear and the textiles we dispose of.

Our Community

Recycle week is all about recognizing our responsibility not just as individuals, but also as groups. At Roberts Recycling, we strongly believe a sustainable change starts with communities.
