King’s Award for Enterprise winners

Roberts Recycling Ltd has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, marking the third time the company has received the honour in its 15-year history.

The award recognises the company’s exceptional growth and sustained success in the global export of used UK textiles, reflecting the increasing international demand for sustainable and circular fashion solutions.

Roberts Recycling operates from two advanced processing facilities in Cheshire and Cardiff, collecting, sorting and exporting millions of clothing items each year. Through its international partnerships, the company ensures that textiles are responsibly reused or recycled, contributing to reduced global waste and the development of circular economies worldwide.

Simon Roberts, Co-Director of Roberts Recycling, said:

“We are delighted to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise for the third time. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and passion of the entire team, and to the partners and customers around the world who believe in the company’s mission. The growth in international trade reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, and we are proud to contribute to reducing global textile waste while supporting communities.”

Roberts Recycling works with hundreds of UK schools, charities and fashion brands, collecting unwanted clothing and textiles for reuse and resale. All exported materials are processed through a stringent quality and compliance framework, ensuring ethical handling at every stage.

The company’s Co-Director Simon Roberts will formally accept the award at Windsor Castle on 12 June 2025, at a ceremony recognising this year’s recipients across the UK.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is the UK’s most prestigious business award, recognising outstanding achievements in innovation, sustainable development, international trade and promoting opportunity through social mobility.
