Roberts team Educate 190 Students at Cuddington Primary

Roberts Recycling has continued its commitment to educating the next generation and sustainability by delivering their ‘Textile Champions’ recycling assembly to over 190 pupils at Cuddington Primary School in Cheshire.

As partners in the Recycle 4 School textile recycling programme Cuddington were able to access the assembly which is designed to raise awareness of the environmental impact of textile waste, while inspiring pupils to take action.

Introducing the group to key topics including fast fashion, the lifecycle of a t-shirt and the importance of the reduce, reuse, recycle message, pupils also explored the environmental cost of clothing production including the vast amounts of water used to make garments, learning how small changes can make a big difference.

With engaging activities such as ‘Dress the Teacher’ challenge and discussions around the pitfalls of excess waste, the experience was educational and memorable. This workshop is part of Roberts Recycling’s wider education strategy to support its partner schools to boost their recycling collections and inspire sustainable choices.

“Through Textile Champions we aim to inspire the next generation to embrace textile recycling and reduce waste in their schools and communities. It was a brilliant experience to deliver this education and meet the staff team and students, who were all so engaged. We can wait to hear all about their environmental projects” said Paul Roberts, Director at Roberts Recycling.

Cuddington Primary School is one of hundreds of schools across England and Wales partnered with Roberts Recycling through Recycle 4 School and Dragon Bags programmes respectively, which provides free recycling collection services to help schools to raise vital funds and reduce their environmental impact.

Further assemblies and workshops are planned for schools across the UK throughout 2025, as part of Roberts Recycling’s mission to tackle textile waste through education, community engagement and circular solutions.
