Innovation Led

Innovation sits at the core of Roberts Recycling.

Innovation sits at the core of Roberts Recycling. From the way we collect textiles to how we process and transform them, we continually invest in new technologies and approaches that reduce impact while increasing value.

Renewable Energy in Action

At our Cheshire HQ, we have invested in solar power to reduce our reliance on the grid and charge our growing fleet of electric vehicles.

By combining renewable energy with low-emission transport, we’re cutting carbon across our operations.

Advanced Fibre Identification and Processing

We are investing in advanced fibre identification machinery and new industrial shredding operations for non-rewearable textiles.

This combination means we can accurately separate materials and shred into feedstock for applications such as insulation, mats, and other circular products.

Exploring Fibre-to-Fibre Recycling

Innovation means testing new solutions first-hand. Our team has carried out international due diligence with partners in India, visiting textile factories and sending bales for trial processing.

These pilots give us crucial insight into how end-of-life textiles can be recycled into new fibres at scale.

Sustainable Footprint

Roberts Recycling operates from two specialist sites: Halebank House, Cheshire, our main UK headquarters, and a dedicated hub in Cardiff, supporting schools and communities across Wales.

Together, these facilities manage the collection, sorting and redistribution of textiles at scale, enabling us to deliver measurable environmental and social benefits across the regions we serve.

Smarter Collections

We’ve developed in-house systems to make our collection network more efficient, whilst collaborating with leading academic institutions to optimise operational flow.

This includes AI-powered route optimisation, reducing mileage, cutting emissions, and ensuring we can collect more textiles with less environmental impact.

Responsible Waste Solutions

Innovation also means finding circular outcomes for the other waste streams created through our operations.

At our HQ we are testing our plastic recycling capabilities to recycle broken clothing hangers. We also have a cardboard baler regularly processing cardboard waste to repurpose into new uses.

By integrating these systems, we ensure that every material we handle is given the best possible route back into use.

Reporting and Transparency

We support our brand and council partners with tailored reporting. This includes collection volumes, impact data and performance metrics that help them demonstrate ESG progress and fundraising outcomes.
