Roberts Recycling Joins Crafters & Makers for Sustainable Fashion Week
As part of Sustainable Fashion Week 2025, Roberts Recycling was delighted to join the talented Crafters & Makers community group for an engaging session on the journey of donated clothes.
Our Director, Paul Roberts, and Marketing Lead, Lewis Webster, delivered a Recycled Textiles Talk that offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at what happens when people drop off clothing at textile recycling banks or charity shops.

The talk explored:
- Where donated clothes really go and how they are sorted for reuse.
- What happens to items that charity shops can’t sell and how they are carefully processed.
- How Roberts Recycling ensures unwanted textiles are given a second life through reuse and recycling solutions across the globe.
The event brought together an inspiring mix of upcyclers, sewing enthusiasts and makers, whose creativity and passion for sustainability sparked lively discussions on how communities can reduce waste and embrace circular fashion.
Roberts Recycling is proud to support events like this, which not only shine a light on the environmental challenges of fast fashion but also celebrate the innovative solutions already happening at a grassroots level.
A huge thank you to Jane at Crafters & Makers for hosting us.
