Please only donate clean, dry and bagged items

All textiles should be placed inside a tied carrier bag or bin liner to keep them protected and suitable for reuse or recycling.

  • Jackets
  • Jeans
  • Jumpers

  • Polos
  • Joggers
  • Gloves

New clothing with tags

Footwear – Paired shoes, trainers and boots

Accessories – Handbags, belts, ties, jewellery and similar items

Household textiles – Clean bedding and clean towels

Items we cannot accept

  • Soiled, wet, ripped, heavily worn, stained, mouldy or odorous textiles
  • Duvets, pillows, throws, mattresses, rugs or carpets
  • Electrical items or furnishings
  • Workwear, PPE or protective clothing
  • Underwear or socks unless brand new with tags
  • Fabric scraps or offcuts
  • Bath robes or slippers
  • School uniform
  • Toys or books

If items are not suitable for reuse or recycling, please follow your local household waste guidance. All listed textile banks form part of the official local recycling network, helping ensure donated clothing is:

  • Handled responsibly
  • Prioritised for reuse wherever possible
  • Recycled ethically when reuse is not suitable
  • Kept out of landfill

St Helens’ textile recycling network operates through the official partnership between St Helens Borough Council and Roberts Recycling, helping divert more than 70,000 clothing items from landfill since May 2025.
