Roberts Recycling recently delivered its Textile Champions Educational Assembly to more than 200 students at Garswood Primary School in St Helens, helping to educate and inspire young people about the importance of textile recycling and reducing waste.

The session was led by Head of Marketing Lewis and Marketing Assistant Nathan from the Roberts Recycling team, alongside Suzanne and Gabby from the St Helens Council Recycling Engagement team.

Together, they explored how everyday choices around clothing can play a meaningful role in tackling the textile waste crisis and supporting a more sustainable future.

The visit forms part of Roberts Recycling’s partnership with St Helens Council as the official provider of textile banks and recycling options for residents across the borough.

Through this partnership, Roberts Recycling and St Helens are also delivering education in the community, supporting local schools to take part in recycling initiatives and creative upcycling projects.

Garswood Primary are proud memebrs of Roberts Recycling’s Recycle 4 School programme, which you can find out more about here.

The school are continuing to collect unwanted clothing and textiles through Recycle 4 School, helping to divert items from reaching landfill, raising funds and helping reinforce the reduce, reuse, recycle message.

This assembly marked the first of a series of partnership educational assemblies Roberts Recycling are planning with St Helens Council for schools across the borough.

Over the coming months, Roberts Recycling looks forward to visiting more schools, empowering and inspiring the next generation to become active Textile Champions.
