Visitors to New Mersey Retail Park in Speke can now donate clothing at newly installed recycling banks, thanks to a partnership between Roberts Recycling, North West Cancer Research (NWCR) and representatives of British Land.
This prime retail location provides the local community with an easy and accessible way to give unwanted clothing a second life and generate vital funds for cancer research while ensuring every item is reused or recycled responsibly.
A clear example of how charities, site owners and Roberts Recycling can work together, to deliver both social and environmental impact. From funding life-saving medical research to reducing landfill waste, these collaborations make it accessible for people to contribute to causes they care about, while promoting sustainable practices.

Jimmy Moutray, North West Cancer Research, said:
“It’s fantastic for our charity to have clothing banks placed here at New Mersey Retail, also known as Speke Retail, as it’s such a prime location in the Merseyside area. Everyone has wardrobes full of clothes they no longer need. Every donation we receive here will be turned into funds for life-saving cancer research in Liverpool and across the North West. For a local charity to be able to take advantage of this space, and give the local community an easy way to donate clothes to help save local lives, is incredible.”
Russell Hall, British Land, added:
“I represent British Land, the landlords of this site, and we’re very keen to work with the local community. We’ve been in discussions with Roberts Recycling for a while about placing clothing recycling banks here, and tying in with North West Cancer Research really works for us. Nothing goes to waste — we’re really pleased to have the recycling banks on-site, offering opportunities for the local community to give their unwanted clothing to a good cause, while also ensuring it’s recycled responsibly.”
