Students Create Buzz for World Bee Day

To mark World Bee Day on May 20th, we invited schools across our Recycle 4 School and Dragon Bags programmes to help raise awareness of nature’s most important pollinator.

Through our ‘It’s Good to Bee Sustainable’ activity sheet – part of our free educational resource pack for partner schools – students learned all about why bees matter, explored the threats they face, and were tasked with creating an eye-catching poster to help spread the word.

Check out this gallery of some of the incredible entries submitted by our partner school, Coed-y-Garn Primary School:

Having also collected 150kg of clothing for reuse and recycling so far in 2025, we’d like to thank Coed-y-Garn for their fantastic contribution to reducing landfill waste and inspiring more sustainable habits.

Miss James, a teacher at Coed-y-Garn, said:
“The children really enjoyed taking part and loved designing their posters too!”

Competition Update

The Bee Poster Competition is now closed for entries, and we’re currently reviewing submissions from schools across our network.

We’ll be announcing the winners soon, with an exciting prize to be shared with the winning school directly.

A huge thank you to every school and pupil who took part – your creativity and care for the planet has truly made this campaign a buzzing success!
