As part of our commitment to helping schools and community groups boost their textile recycling efforts, we are excited to launch a new suite of educational activities sand promotional resources to support summer collection drives.
This month marks the start of our Summer of Sustainability, and we’ve created a range of tools to inspire students and make recycling campaigns even more successful.
June Activity Sheet – PROTECTING WHAT WE LOVE
To celebrate World Environment Day (5th June), we’ve created an interactive worksheet for schools to use in class or at home. It includes:
- A creative writing activity: My World, My Promise – encouraging pupils to reflect on the environment and make their own eco-promises.
- An acrostic poem challenge using the word REUSE.
- A fun fact about our use of electric vans to reduce emissions from collections.
This activity is available to all schools taking part in the Recycle 4 School and Dragon Bags programmes, helping to reinforce key sustainability messages while linking directly to their textile recycling efforts.

New Summer Campaign Posters and top Tips
We’ve also created a fresh campaign poster (available in English and Welsh) and a Top Tips guide to help our schools and groups get the most from their summer collections. This includes:
- Easy ways to boost donations – from asking friends and family, to running workplace collection drives.
- Simple reminders on how to raise funds through textile recycling.
- A ready-made poster design to promote collections throughout the term.

These resources are designed to make recycling easier, more engaging, and more impactful – helping partners raise more funds while protecting the planet.
If you’re already signed up with Dragon Bags or Recycle 4 School, you’ll have received these resources directly by email. If you’d like to join one of our programmes, visit https://www.recycle4school.org.uk/ or dragonbags.co.uk to learn more about how you can join.
Let’s make this a Summer of Sustainability to remember!
