This week, Roberts Recycling was proud to take part in the St Helens Youth Climate Commission event at St Helens Town Hall.
Local primary and secondary schools came together to explore the links between recycling and climate change, creating pledges and offering solutions to help improve recycling rates across the borough.
Our Director, Paul Roberts, attended as a guest expert supporting pupils from Garswood Primary School as they tackled the theme of textile recycling.

Each school in attendance had been assigned a different sustainability topic, with pupils challenged to think critically about how they could drive meaningful change.
Paul worked with Garswood’s Eco Club, made up of enthusiastic Year 5 and 6 pupils to help them explore the environmental impact of clothing production and textile waste. Discussions covered everything from water usage and carbon emissions to transportation, material choices, and how recycling and reuse can help reduce waste and conserve resources.
The session also gave pupils the chance to create a series of pledges, presented to Council members, outlining the actions they will take to build a more sustainable future.
