Where Can I Recycle Clothes In Liverpool?

Recycling clothing in Liverpool has never been easier, so if you have found yourself searching for this very question on Google, then you have arrived in the correct place.

Here at Roberts Recycling, we specialise in clothing recycling and over the past 10 years, we have grown into one of the UK’s premier textile recycling companies, processing over 200 tonnes of clothing each month and distributing throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

What Can You Recycle?

When donating your unwanted items it’s important to think about the items you are placing in your bags. Ask yourself could somebody else get enjoyment out of this item? Or would it benefit someone more than it is currently benefiting me? If the answer to both questions is yes then donate it. It is also important to learn what items your chosen recycling company accepts and doesn’t doing so will help ensure the correct clothing goes to a brand new home.

So what about clothing that could be recycled but isn’t suitable to be worn or that we don’t accept (as stated below), clothes that are not in a re-wearable condition can also be recycled and there are companies out there that will shred the items and reuse in many different ways. Here at Roberts Recycling, we do not offer this service, as we don’t have the facilities to shred. If you require any further information please contact the textile recycling association and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

How Can You Recycle With Us?

Recycling with us is hassle-free, so if you are a school or organisation simply use our contact page to fill out your information and one of our team members will get back in contact with you. If you decide to sign up to our recycling scheme, this will mean we will supply you with either a bank or box where your employees/parents will be able to drop off their unwanted items. Once full we will arrange a collection date and then make a BACS payment into your school fund within 5 working days of the collection.

Our motto has always been about making recycling fun, fast and stress free and we believe the process does exactly that.

Why Is Recycling Clothing Important?

So you’ve got your unwanted items and you’re ready to donate to your local bank but do you know why it’s so important for us to recycle our clothing instead of binning it? It all comes down to landfill and the bad effects it has on the environment. Any waste that is not given a new home has to go somewhere and the answer to that tends to be landfill.

In the UK we produce more than a ton of waste every year and the main issue with landfill is the greenhouse gases that come from the rubbish breaking down at a very slow rate. If you would like to learn more about the danger of landfill read our ‘Why Is Landfill Bad For The Environment’ blog post.

So if you are looking to recycle your unwanted clothing in Liverpool, allow us to take the hard work out of your clean-up and make a difference to those in need.
