As the textiles recycling industry continues its journey towards a more circular future, the infrastructure and expertise behind textile reuse will become increasingly important.
This World Circular Textiles Day, Roberts Group International (RGI) is highlighting the investment we are making in both people and technology as we continue to scale our textile sorting, grading and reuse capabilities.
RGI currently processes millions of pre-loved clothing items every week, with increasing volumes requiring sophisticated sorting and grading to ensure textiles are correctly assessed and prepared for their intended next use.
cOULD YOU BE THE RIGHT FIT FOR RGI?
As part of our continued investment, we are strengthening the expertise within our Widnes HQ and looking to bring extensive industry experience into our sorting and grading operation.
The knowledge required to accurately grade textiles is highly specialised.
Understanding different export grades and markets, seasonal stock, garment condition and the distinction between rewearable and non-rewearable textiles all play an important role in determining what happens to an item next.
We are also investing in how that expertise works alongside new technology. Our ongoing development of AI-powered sorting technology is designed to complement experienced textile professionals, combining established industry knowledge with new approaches to improve sorting, grading, quality control and consistency.
