Engineering & Building Services
CLIENT OVERVIEW
Kimpton specialises in HVAC, M&E, facilities management and commercial fit-out services for clients across the north west and wider UK. Operating in complex, multi-site environments, its teams support critical infrastructure where reliability, safety and compliance are essential.
Throughout its 63-year history, Kimpton has always placed a strong emphasis on building more sustainable environments for the future, supporting local communities and embedding responsible practices into its day-to-day operations.
With a team of 120+ engineers and support staff, Kimpton approached Roberts Recycling to find a solution to manage end-of-life branded workwear.
THE CHALLENGE
Across a distributed engineering workforce, worn-out workwear is an inevitable by-product of day-to-day operations.
For Kimpton, the priority was ensuring these items were handled in a controlled and secure way, removing branded garments from circulation while aligning with more responsible environmental practices.

OUR APPROACH
Roberts Recycling implemented a secure, fully controlled process for the collection and destruction of end-of-life workwear across Kimpton’s operations.
Led by our Head of Brand Protection, Jamie Runciman, all branded garments were processed through our verified destruction route, with materials directed into responsible recycling streams wherever possible.
The process was supported by clear reporting, giving Kimpton full visibility over volumes handled and associated environmental impact.
IMPACT
Kimpton’s end-of-life workwear was removed from circulation through a fully controlled process, ensuring complete brand protection while avoiding unnecessary landfill.
- 50kg Textiles securely destroyed and diverted from landfill
- 120+ Workwear Items processed
- 110kg CO₂e emissions avoided (estimated)
