MOVING WILD x MATERIALS IN MOTION

PLAINE OUTDOORS × RGI – FREE COMMUNITY EVENT

THE MORNING

9:30 a.m. — Depart for the Peak District.

Please arrive in plenty of time so we can set off together. Allow approximately 1 hour 20 minutes for the drive, depending on traffic.

THE WALK

Around 11:00 a.m. — Gather at the starting point for a quick group briefing before setting off.

We’re heading to the Mam Tor area for a circular hike, with time to take in the views, stop for a bite and get a group photo.

• Planned distance: approximately 5–6 miles / 8–9.5 km.
• ⁠Allow 3–4 hours, including breaks and photo stops.
• ⁠Expect uphill climbs, stone steps and uneven ground.
• ⁠Exact route and parking pin will be shared ahead of the event.

We’ll aim to finish around 2:00–3:00 p.m., depending on our pace and conditions.

WHAT TO BRING

• ⁠Walking boots or trail shoes with good grip.
• Waterproof jacket and warm layers.
• ⁠Water, lunch and snacks.
• ⁠A charged phone.
• A bag to take all your rubbish home.

TRAVEL & PARKING

Please arrange your travel in advance. Share lifts where possible and let us know if you need a lift or have a spare seat.

Allow for paid parking and limited spaces. Everyone will receive the same meeting pin once the route is confirmed.

DOGS

Dogs are welcome, provided the final route is suitable. Keep them on a lead around livestock and be prepared for stiles and uneven ground.
