Roberts Recycling recently supported a Foundation Studies Careers Day at Riverside College in Widnes, engaging with over 30 students to provide insight into career opportunities within the growing textiles recycling and sustainability sector.
Lewis Webster, Head of Marketing at Roberts Recycling and Compliance Officer, Nathan Moore led the session, offering a practical overview of operations within an international textile recycling business, alongside highlighting emerging green career pathways.
The talk focused on broadening awareness of the sector, showcasing the range of roles available across operations, logistics, environmental compliance and sustainability.

Students were encouraged to consider how careers in recycling and circular economy industries can offer long-term, meaningful opportunities.
With increasing demand for sustainable solutions across the fashion and waste sectors, the session also highlighted the important role the next generation will play in shaping a more responsible and resource-efficient future.
Following the talk, Lewis shared:
“It was a great opportunity to connect with students and share a different perspective on careers in sustainability.
There are so many pathways into the industry, and it’s important that young people can see the real opportunities available to them.”
Roberts Recycling continues to support education and community engagement initiatives, working with schools and colleges to raise awareness of careers in sustainability and the circular economy.
