Roberts Group International (RGI) Director of Partnerships & Commercial Paul Roberts was invited to speak at the LARAC Wales Conference 2026, joining industry leaders at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium to discuss the future of textile reuse and recycling.
Speaking during the conference’s “Textiles Markets: State of Play” session, Paul shared insights into the current textile market, the challenges facing the sector and the opportunities ahead as Wales continues to advance its circular economy ambitions.
Drawing on RGI’s experience working with local authorities, charities, retailers and global brands across the UK, the presentation explored how collaboration, innovation and investment will be key to increasing textile reuse and reducing waste in the years ahead.
A Challenging Market with Reasons for Optimism
Reflecting on the event, Paul said the conference provided an important opportunity to discuss both the realities of today’s textile market and the positive work taking place across the industry.
“It was a pleasure to speak at the LARAC Wales Conference and share an update on the current state of the textile industry, the challenges we’re facing and some of the projects we’re working on to help drive positive change.
It’s a tough market at the moment, but there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic. Now we need the right support and investment to help the industry move forward.”
The discussion highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between local authorities, industry partners and policymakers to build a stronger, more sustainable circular economy for textiles.
