St Anne’s Eco Club Inspires 200 Students Through Textile Recycling Campaign

RGI worked with St Anne's Eco Club in Ormskirk to deliver a textile recycling awareness campaign inspiring over 200 students.

How do you inspire the next generation to think differently about textiles?

At St Anne’s Catholic Primary School in Ormskirk, the answer came from empowering young people to become sustainability leaders themselves.

Over several weeks, RGI’s Community and Marketing Intern, Hattie worked alongside the school’s Eco Club to explore textile reuse, the environmental impact of fast fashion and the importance of making more sustainable choices.

Following a successful school clothing collection, RGI challenged the group to take their learning further by developing their own textile recycling awareness campaign and delivering a peer-to-peer assembly to the wider school community.

Save the World… Recycle Textiles

The students embraced the challenge, creating their own campaign under the banner Save the World… Recycle Textiles.

Sporting campaign T-shirts made from recycled and organic cotton, Hattie and the Eco Club took to the stage to deliver their message to more than 200 students and teaching staff.

Through their assembly, the group shared the importance of textile reuse and demonstrated how individual actions can contribute towards a more sustainable future.

The Next Generation of Textile Champions

The initiative highlights the value of engaging young people directly in sustainability education, giving them the knowledge, confidence and opportunity to influence others.

A huge congratulations to Hattie and the Eco Club at St Anne’s for delivering such an inspiring campaign.

The next generation of textile recycling champions are already here!
