Roberts Group International (RGI) is delighted to announce a major new strategic partnership with the Morrisons Foundation, with more than 200 Morrisons Supermarket sites across the UK now supported by RGI’s textiles reuse and recycling services.

The long term partnership marks a significant milestone in RGI’s continued growth, bringing its operational expertise and growing national infrastructure to a major UK retail network and providing customers with accessible collection points to donate reusable clothing and footwear.

With the service now live, RGI is actively servicing Morrisons Supermarket textiles banks across its operating regions, alongside a trusted network of established recycling partners supporting delivery across the wider UK network.

A partnership built for impact

The partnership brings together RGI’s expertise in textiles reuse and recycling with the charitable purpose of the Morrisons Foundation, creating an extensive network of collection points for customers to participate in the scheme.

The Morrisons Foundation supports charitable initiatives and communities across the UK, with its textiles bank programme providing an important way for customers to contribute through their clothing and footwear donations.

For RGI, the partnership represents an opportunity to put its growing national capabilities into action at significant scale, supporting a service that connects everyday customer participation with environmental and charitable impact.

Delivering excellence across the UK

As the lead recycler supporting the partnership, RGI is responsible for delivering the service across its core operating regions, while also working with a network of reputable and trusted recycling partners to support the wider national footprint.

This combination of RGI’s own infrastructure, operational expertise and established industry relationships enables the partnership to be delivered consistently across a large and geographically diverse network.

It also represents another step in RGI’s evolution from a regional textiles recycling business into a growing national organisation supporting major retail, corporate and public-sector partners.

Simon Roberts, CEO and Group Managing Director at RGI, said:

“This is a hugely significant partnership for RGI and one that we are incredibly proud to be delivering.

The trust that the Morrisons team has placed in RGI to support textiles collection across more than 200 supermarket sites is a real testament to the capability of our team and the service we have built.

Over recent years, we have invested heavily in our people, our infrastructure, our operational capability and our approach to innovation. This partnership brings all of those elements together and demonstrates our ability to deliver a high-quality service at significant scale.

Most importantly, it creates a simple and accessible way for Morrisons customers to donate reusable clothing and footwear, while supporting the important work of the Morrisons Foundation.

We are delighted to be part of this partnership and excited about what we can achieve together as it continues to develop.”

Making reusable textiles donations accessible

Participating Morrisons sites provide convenient textiles collection points where customers can donate reusable clothing and footwear through the Morrisons Foundation textiles banks serviced by RGI.

RGI has also developed a dedicated digital platform for the partnership, allowing customers to find participating Morrisons Foundation banks currently serviced by RGI across its operating regions, including the North, North West and Wales.

A QR code featured on each RGI-serviced bank provides a direct link to the platform, giving customers an easy way to locate their nearest participating bank and learn more about the partnership and its impact.

A major milestone for RGI

The Morrisons Foundation partnership announcement represents a major strategic partnership in RGI (formerly Roberts Recycling) history and is a significant marker of the company’s continued growth.

It builds on RGI’s expanding national presence and its focus on developing the infrastructure, expertise and innovation required to deliver textiles reuse and recycling solutions at scale.

The partnership also forms part of RGI’s wider ambition to make textiles reuse more accessible, creating more opportunities for clothing and footwear to remain in circulation while delivering positive outcomes for communities and charitable organisations.
