Aerial footage shows the RGI headquarters in Halebank, Cheshire, including rooftop solar panels. Simon Roberts stands in the front yard. An on-screen caption identifies him as Director at Roberts Recycling Limited.
Simon Roberts: Wow, what a day here in Cheshire. It feels like the first day of spring—beautiful sunshine. We’re out in the front yard, where most of the action happens.
It’s relatively quiet here now because it’s coming to the end of the day, but we’ve had a really busy day, as we do every day here at Roberts Recycling.

Aerial views show the headquarters roof and installed solar panels, followed by electric vehicles and equipment around the site.
Simon Roberts: If the sun is shining—which hopefully it will a lot more now—we’ve got our industrial solar fitted on top of the roof. That means that we are now going to be absorbing so much more energy from the sun.
That will mean that all of our electric vans, all of our electric forklifts and all of our other electric components inside the warehouse will be getting charged from the roof, and we will be completely off-grid.

The camera moves inside the new canteen and breakout area before showing its exterior construction from repurposed containers.
Simon Roberts: You probably would have seen recently on our social media how we installed a new canteen, a new breakout space for our growing number of staff. It’s a really cool project.
It was actually four old shipping containers that were repurposed into a large space with loads of natural light going in.
The sun is actually out today, and we’re focusing on the next stage of that canteen, which will be a nice garden and sitting area.

Simon walks through the planned outdoor area. Concrete safety blocks, the container building and the active yard are visible.
Simon Roberts: We’re just putting in the concrete blocks to make sure it’s safe from any HGVs that will be coming in and out. This area is going to be grassed. It’s going to have a seating area—a nice little space for our staff to sit outside in the summer, on a beautiful day like today, and enjoy the sunshine.
